At Dubai Harbour we were challenged by very strict requirements for post-compaction relative density to mitigate liquefaction potential and safe bearing capacity for foundation. We successfully achieved the desired criteria for ground improvement with our S700 vibrators. For special compaction on the island slope a single vibrator was used on a 280ton crane to allow longer reach. On completion, we would have compacted 7 to 8 million cubic meter of reclaimed soil. Our productivity has been up to mark and successfully meeting to the client’s program. As per quality concern the soil conditions were not typical, due to the channel dredging. Keller has put in innovative solutions together with the Keller Global Product Team experts. This resulted in a great success as we met the client’s quality requirements in a timely manner. With regards to safety, we are proud to mention that we have accomplished more than 126.000 safe man hours without any accidents. The most challenging factors that we faced, is working with our Vibro Compaction on a slope area within the sea and at the same time, execution of our Vibro Replacement from the barge. With the guided coordination of our main contractor we overcame these challenges successfully and completed our works in a safe way. The Dubai Harbour project is the latest addition to our long list of prestigious ground improvement projects in the UAE. The famous Palm Jumeirah island, located on the Eastside of Dubai Harbour, was the first one executed in 2004. The Dubai Harbour, requires around 7 to 8 million cubic meters of calcareous sands to be compacted. Our project team has worked very hard throughout the hot summer period in double shift, maintaining high productivity with our S700 Vibrators, the very best in our industry.
