How to Rebound from a Bad Day // Reset your Week

Hey what’s up, I am MUCHELLEB and this video is all about how to make tomorrow better and how to reset your week. So if you have had a bad day, (Maybe you’ve had a bad few days), visit this video and use it like a checklist. Step 1: Clean your space Shout out to those of you who are heavily impacted by your environment and surroundings! I don’t know if this is everyone, But I find if my environment is messy you can pretty much guarantee that I’m not at my best. You can almost tell like what my vibe is by the state of my room. The worst thing that I could think of the day after your bad day is just waking up to like a pigsty and feeling like you’re just going to have a repeat of yesterday. Make your space feel fresh, clean, and clear so that you’re ready to go tomorrow. Step 2: Grab a notebook and write down what you’ve accomplished in that day. If you’re going to dwell on anything after a bad day, try and dwell on your successes– even like miny, baby successes! You ordered your coffee without stumbling through your order, you said hey to that person in the elevator when you usually wouldn’t, your hair looked great… By writing down a bunch of your accomplishments, you’re like pointing out your brain like, “Hey, No!
Like I did pretty good at these particular things, go me!” and fighting away from that negativity bias. Step 3: Using that same notebook, write down three things that you’re grateful for. Was the weather good today? Did you have a smooth drive to work? Did you find a park really easily? If you’re feeling super down, like you’ve had a terrible day, I would highly recommend writing down 50 things you’re grateful for; Only rules being they all need to be different and they all need to be specific. Doing a big gratitude dump is the best way to pull yourself out of a negative mindset. Next step: Clean yourself. Put on a candle, put on some relaxing music. Might I recommend the piano music playlist that I’ve recommended in my favourites video (I’ll link in the description). Exfoliate the crap out of your body, except not too hard because that’s bad for your skin. Get some Lush body moisturizers and just like cover yourself! Put on the face mask that you never use, shave (I know…), clean away the crappy day that you’ve had. Once you have a clean room and you have a clean body, you’re going to feel so much better after a bad day. Guaranteed, or money back! Next up, plan what you’ll do tomorrow. Write down the one most important thing that you need to get done tomorrow, and then add two little subtasks that it would be nice for you to get done tomorrow. And if you want to perk yourself up, put down your most important thing as something like exciting that you’ve been planning on doing for a while, like a little mini project, getting started on it… That way you have something to look forward to tomorrow. And the last step is to get into nature or the sunshine. This probably should have been the first step! If you’ve finish work, you feel just like bleh, head straight in to nature, lie on a park bench, or if you feel like you need to look busy grab a book, soak up what’s left of the sun, breathe in the fresh air. If you feel like serious mental resistance to going outside you can literally bring along your iPad, watch a TV show, I know some people will not agree with that recommendation but like as long as you’re getting yourself outside, getting yourself into fresh air… There is literally a form of therapy, I’m pretty sure it’s in Japan, and it’s just getting people out in trees. It’s like tree therapy. Just surrounding yourself in trees is therapeutic. And I think that’s so true, like there is something about being nature that genuinely has an impact on your mood and changes your well-being. It changes how you feel. So those are my steps to resetting your week, making tomorrow a little bit better. What do you guys do after you’ve had a bad day? I would love to hear from you down in the comments below. I’ve actually had a few off days recently, and I’ve found all of these things to be useful. Follow me on Instagram, it’s linked in the description below, subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already. I appreciate you so much, and I will see you soon. x

  7. ำ‡เซฆฯ‰ี†เธ„าบษฑเซฆีˆา›เซฏาบ

  12. Perfect timing as always. Needed a little pick me up.
One thing I find helpful myself is to repeat to myself "this too shall pass" even though I know this on a conscious level, I feel it helps me to repeat this to expel the negative vibes.
Positive vibes from the Netherlands (and from me) ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

  13. One thing that I do when I'm feeling down is to skip rocks. It takes away any anger or frustration you might have because you can channel it into throwing the rocks. Listening to the water and the sound of skipping rocks really makes me feel better when I've had a bad day

  14. What I do after a bad day? Some of the things you mentioned ๐Ÿ™‚ I treat myself (nice hot bath with a good book, relax, have a cookie…) and make a plan to have a better day after that. To be fair though, usually cleaning up the space only comes the day after, when I had a bad day, part of my "treating myself" is allowing myself to just chill and do the annoying things the day after. Nice video! ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Ahh, this was a good one! Like, all of them are, but this was exceptionally good & needed & appreciated. Thanks, Muchelle ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. I typically find myself falling into a depression nap. I tend to wallow for a few days. However I do realize that the world keeps spinning and I've got a job to do.

  20. Getting ready for five days of nature and fresh air myself. Can't wait for the reset!

  21. thank you so much. much needed in my life at the moment. so grateful for all your good videos. on an off day, I like to take a hot steam shower and add lavender drops so that the scent and heat relax me. :))

  22. One thing I do that works is I take a hot long shower then I massage my body with lavender oil. Helps me relax and seize the moment.

  23. more video ideas
    1. how to be independent/live alone well
    2. how to not be sentimental
    3. how to plan and organize future plans

  24. If I have a bad day I get creative. Being an artistic person, creating something makes me feel like myself and helps me to express anything I am bottling up. I feel most confident when I create and once I make one thing i start to get motivated to do more challenging stuff. I also do tai chi. That is vital for my mental health and has helped me so much along my journey.

  25. I'm very grateful for the content you provide, I always feel so inspired to be more positive and productive after visiting your channel ๐Ÿ˜Š

  26. thank you, I live around fruit trees and nature, knowing it's therapeutic makes me feel better, your hair is so gorgeous, reminds me of gorgeous Sharon Stone ( I miss her beauty, I watched all her films in the 90s, my Sociology Tutor at University looked like you, you are gorgeous though, you are also kind!! 33. For quite some time I was looking for ONE thing that will drive me out of the bad mood and I couldn't find it. But it looks like there is a whole list! So maybe that is where I was wrong! So, I will definitely give it a try ๐Ÿ™‚

Katie xo

  44. Cleaning myself, doing haircare, skincare, nailcare and putting on fresh linen on my bed. ๐Ÿ™‚

  45. I love this video so much! Not only is the information great, but you are so relaxed and real. Keep it up. ๐Ÿ™‚

  46. Michelle: "Soak up the sun after work" … me: finishes work at 10pm "well fuck".
All jokes aside thanks for the helpful video x

  47. Definitely needed this ๐Ÿ’• I mentioned you in my summer favourites video! ๐Ÿ™ƒ

  48. I really wish you would learn to edit the sound of your videos. The music's too loud and your voice too low. I have too keep running to the computer to lower the volume every time. The volume in every video is different too. There's a way to make the whole video the same Db level and too make every video that same level to, so that when you are watching a playlist you don't have to adjust the volume in every video. Please take a look into that. I love your videos, but this is making me lose it.

  49. I actually had to repeat my last coffee order..stumbled over my words the first time. I had a laugh about it though, so it was all good. ๐Ÿ™‚

  50. I love youuuuuuuu ๐Ÿ˜™ Sorry lol the comment section sometimes does this to you. Please come to London!! You're so similar to me it's unreal xx

  51. when I feel bad for some reason I like to write down my thoughts and feelings and have some chocolate

  52. These are great ideas for people dealing with depression too. Very good vid! Thank you.

  53. Oh, you can't rebound from even one bad day. You realize, how easily you can escape from reality by an emergency exit, madness, and you won't go back to normal.

  54. I'm about to start thisssssss โฃ๏ธโฃ๏ธโฃ๏ธโฃ๏ธโฃ๏ธโฃ๏ธI'm so glad I found this video. I was drowning in stuff that has happened

  55. Sometimes I watch your videos and that jogs my memory to do good things, so Thankyou! I've had PTSD post breast cancer and it's been a rocky road, however your tips have helped and I'd like you to know how much I appreciate your work ๐Ÿ˜€

  56. The best thing that works for me when I'm feeling down is to go to the beach and watch the waves for about 30 mins.. it is so relaxing โ™ฅ๏ธ

  57. Apart from the lists you do, I do pretty much the same but in addition I sing or dance around or play guitar!
I find the "Dance like nobody's watching" move very cathartic ๐Ÿ™‚

  58. this playlist is so helpful i wish you could creat more content like this โคโค๐Ÿ‘€

  59. another, very late but also very important tipp would be to call a loved one (family, friend, partner) talk to them and let them know how happy you are to have them in your life โค

  60. Those are all good ways to get out of a funk! Honestly, sometimes I just let myself cry. I give myself permission to just bawl like a baby and release all my frustrations. Sometimes I trigger the crying by watching something sad, sometimes it just happens on its own. I always feel better afterward though. Iโ€™ll take a warm bath, and feel like a brand new person.

  61. I can't quote the study, but I've read of a study pointing out that writing down 3 things you're grateful for but 3 sentences or more about each one in as much detail as possible, uhad a much bigger impact than writing down many things, because it kindled the feeling of gratitude better than just listing stuff. try it if it's the same for you.
for me it helped improve my gratitude habit.

  62. Hi Muchelleb, I love your productivity videos in particular and this video helped me improve my day today. Would love to see more of your videos in the future. Your bright and charismatic personality never fails to make my day better.
Video idea that may help: How to be more assertive for women?
Keep up the good work and look forward to your next post.

  63. My life is so much better when youโ€™re a part of it. My brain already recognizes your voice as a indicator of going into productive mode.
